Abu Dhabi University establishes Alumni Association
Abu Dhabi University (ADU) has established an Alumni Association which will focus on issues experienced by its graduates and endeavor to act as a conduit for communication between the graduates and the colleges and departments from which they graduated. It will also provide graduates with the latest information related to their specializations and the career opportunities available while informing them about the latest postgraduates programs launched at the university.
ADU organized the association’s first meeting on Saturday, 20 February 2010, and all the university’s graduates have been invited to the event.
Dr. Nabil Ibrahim, the ADU Chancellor, underlined the significance of this initiative which was called to life because graduates at ADU are regarded as the main structure of the learning process at the university. This initiative represents a bond that supports the communication between the graduates and activates the coordination between both parties. The association’s goal is to establish a data base of the graduate information that will include their specializations, jobs and other data related to them.
Mrs. Fiona Wilson, Executive Director of Advancement & Public Relations, said that the association will give the graduates the opportunity to meet again and exchange their experiences and ideas that will assist them in building their careers.
Mrs. Wilson added that the association’s goal is to create a long term partnership between ADU and the graduates, while developing a sense of pride in belonging to ADU. The association will be a model for future generations when looking back over ADU’s history.
