H.E Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan Opens NAJAH

UAE Minister of Culture, Youth & Community Development inaugurates latest edition of the show facilitating UAE career and educational opportunities.

Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. 27 October 2015: The ninth edition of NAJAH, the country’s leading higher education and career exhibition which opened today (27 October) at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, was officially inaugurated by H.E Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Youth, Culture & Development.

The three-day event helps job seekers, fresh graduates and school leavers enhance their professional skills and look for higher education and career opportunities with number of blue chip companies looking to hire young professionals across a number of industry verticals. Participating exhibitors include GHQ Armed Forces, Etihad Airways, ADNOC, Abu Dhabi Farmers Centre, Dubai Islamic Bank, STRATA, Mercer Consulting Middle East Limited and Emirates Insurance Company. From the education side, there are a number of large scale universities taking part this year including Rabdan Academy, ALHOSN University and Emirates College of Advanced Education.

The Japan International Cooperation Centre (JICE) will be hosting a number of interactive activities at NAJAH this year, including a stage with traditional Japanese architecture, onsite staff wearing the Kimono, the traditional Japanese dress, and a showcase of Nihon Buyo – their country’s most respected dance style.

“After the success of last year, we have decided to invite Emirati students who have studied, or are currently studying, in Japan to conduct a short presentation to the visitors who in turn can ask them directly about student life in Japan and the degree they are currently undertaking. We think hearing first-hand about what it is like to be a student in Japan will really offer an unprecedented insight in to whether or not it is the right fit for them.” said Akira Tohyama, Project Manager, JICE.

NAJAH will also be offering a number of career enhancing workshops which will be free for visitors to take part in, with international leadership development organisation ‘AIESEC’ and locally grown internship & graduate career portal InternsME.com taking part at the upcoming edition.

AIESEC will be running five interactive workshops designed to develop the leadership potential of youth through experiential learning, volunteer experiences and professional internships. InternsME, which connects students and recent graduates with blue chip employers, will be running a "Job Search Tools" workshop which includes an interactive session on how to improve cover letters/CV’s, and create/deliver strong elevator pitches. Interested candidates are encouraged to bring their CVs along to receive personalised feedback.

Held under the patronage of H.E Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Culture, Youth & Community Development, NAJAH is supported by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Abu Dhabi Education Council and Dubai International Academic City.
