NAJAH Introduces Unique Features to Enhance Visitor Experience

Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. 06 October 2015: International leadership development organisation ‘AIESEC’ and locally grown internship & graduate career portal will be taking part at the upcoming edition of NAJAH, taking place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre on 27th to 29th October 2015, and are bringing with them a number of career enhancing workshops which will be free for visitors to take part in.

AIESEC will be running five interactive workshops designed to develop the leadership potential of youth through experiential learning, volunteer experiences and professional internships. The activities which visitors can take part in are Bigger & Better; Salt & Pepper; Who Dunnit?; Balloon Tower and Make a Machine, specifically designed to help participants learn about other's values and problem solving styles, promotes teamwork, and enhance communication and creativity within a team.

“Some of the activities we are bringing with us are successful communication exercises such as Balloon Tower and Who dunnit?, but we are also showcasing a number of lesser known activities that work very well when implemented correctly. For example, Balloon Tower tests the group’s possibility in achieving certain goals within a limited period of time. We then increase the difficulty of the challenge by having them repeat the same goal but with more limitations. All of the sessions we are running encourage team work, quick thinking and communication.” said Sara Abdul Aziz Hussain, CEO and President, AIESEC.

On the final day of the show, AIESEC will also be running two standalone sessions. The first being a debate style exercise where the group is split in to two and asked to build two different cases on a particular subject. The second is a Dragon’s Den type of exercise where groups will be given an item that they must build a sales strategy around and then pitch it to a group of judges.

The other half of new-to-show features comes from InternsME, an online portal that connects students and recent graduates with blue chip employers, who will be running a "Job Search Tools" workshop which includes an interactive session on how to improve cover letters/CV’s, and create/deliver strong elevator pitches. Interested candidates are encouraged to bring their CVs along to receive personalized feedback.

“Apart from the “Job Search Tools” workshops, we are planning to run several Video CV sessions throughout the event where we give candidates the opportunity to create a 30 second script for their own Video CV.  They can then practice the script and receive feedback from our candidate placement team.” said Jean-Michel Gauthier, CEO, InternsME.

Held under the patronage of H.E Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Culture, Youth & Community Development, NAJAH is supported by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Abu Dhabi Education Council and Dubai International Academic City.
